1967 SPLIT SCREeN KEY FEATURES:
Our 1960´s Split Screen, perhaps one of the most iconic camper vans, started life as an ambulance in Portugal. It was subsequently discovered for sale on eBay and shipped to Jersey for restoration, but being impractical as an ambulance, it was converted to a day van / six-seater mini-bus.

The Volkswagen Splitty campervan
Custom upholstered with a classic period interior whilst still maintaining several subtle ambulance features such as nurses chair, door step, head lining, and European siren (regrettably disconnected). The exterior of the “Splitty” is standard in appearance and it is mechanically factory-standard, apart from a slightly up-rated engine. The “VW Splitty“ can accommodate 6 adults comfortably when driving. A combination of 3 and 2-point seat belts are fitted, three in the front and three in the rear. It has a “Rock and Roll” bed (sleeps 2 adults), a removable table, a period-correct Blaupunkt radio (upgraded with MP3 player connection) and a camping pack can be supplied. Ideal as a day van for sightseeing, or a day on the beach but if you are planning on camping overnight, then some additional camping accessories would be recommended, e.g. drive away awning, OZ Pig outdoor stove – please view the Extras section for details. Standard safety equipment is supplied.
