Remaining balance must be paid 2 weeks before first day of hire (should you wish to pay a deposit only and are booking on line please contact us first)


Insurance excess £750 which is taken as a secuity deposit.


Cancellation Policy

If you wish to cancel or move your booking our policy is as follows:

Cancellation 2 weeks before the first day of hire

No re-fund -We are unable to move your booking at this late stage so any money paid will be lost.

Cancellation 2 weeks - 6 weeks before hire

Full loss of deposit - Moving your booking at this stage will incur a £50 charge.

Cancellation 6 or more weeks before the first day of hire

100% refund - less an administration charge £20. Moving your booking at this stage is free.

Terms and conditions of business

Hire our Danbury Classic CampervanNot wanting to bog you down with legal detail too much on your holiday, Jersey Camper Hire would like it to be clear at the outset for both parties regarding hire procedures. You are the customer and we would like you to enjoy your stay, and therefore we can offer a degree of flexibility, but terms and conditions of business are necessary and as follows;

Jersey law requires campers to stay overnight at recognised campsites only. Please follow the Jersey Tourism link for details. Accommodation and contact the campsite of your choice directly be sure to book in advance as the campsites can become very full in high season. Please note one camp site is open all year round.

The van rental prices quoted include
unlimited mileage in Jersey and up to up to 400 miles off Island. Additional miles charge is calculated at £0.30 per mile this is to cover additional maintenance cost and wear and tear. For our season rates please go to our Rates section.

2. Insurance

a) Excess Charge
There is standard excess charge of £750. This means that the hirer will be liable to pay the first £750 of any claim for damage to either the vehicle or third party property. The hirer will also be liable for replacement or repair of windscreen and tyre damage.
b) Insurance Loading may incur additional charges if a driver either has a traffic conviction or an accident within the last 3 years, or a non-UK driving license or an occupation which is deemed to be high risk by our insurers. These charges will be passed directly to customers.
c)Fire Damage
The hire insurance does not cover the vehicle in the event of a fire caused by heating or cooking, all responsibility for fire damage caused by these activities is the sole responsibility of the hirer including (but not limited to) theft, loss, vandalism and malicious damage.

Excludes the following occupations: Professional entertainers, sports persons, undergraduates, students and Foreign Service personnel.

4. Security Deposit

There is a refundable pound sterling security deposit of £500. This must be paid to cover the possibility of negligent damage to the vehicle or the fixtures and fittings therein or equipment included in the rental. This deposit is payable by cash, traveller's cheque, credit card, or account transfer.
This deposit is fully refundable upon return of the vehicle as stated in the rental agreement, with the interior clean (including all cooking appliances and a full petrol tank as it was at the start of the hire period.

5. Travel off Island in the UK & Western Europe

This is possible as long as the driver fulfils the correct criteria. Breakdown cover is included in the premium. A copy of a utility bill and passport. Off Island hire will be restricted to Jersey residents only. The van rental prices quoted include mileage unlimited in Jersey and up to up to 400 miles off Island. Additional miles charge is calculated at £0.30 per mile this is to cover additional maintenance cost and wear and tear. Comprehensive vehicle insurance is provided at the point of hire and we must be notified if off Island journeys are planned otherwise you may not be insured. Roadside assistance and breakdown cover is included in the cover in Jersey and when 'off Island'.

The inventory does not include any linens / bedding. Pillows, sleeping bags and sheets may be supplied at a cost of £15.00 per person per hire period.

7. Minimum Hire Period

Three or four days plus is the normal Hire period with extra days possible. A one day hire is subject to the discretion of Jersey Camper Hire, and will be discouraged unless within 7 days on the hire date and during the low season. This is to enable the vans to be available for planned holiday bookings.


8. Driver Qualification

a) Drivers must have held a license valid for more than two years.
b) A valid driver's license must be presented by all drivers at the start of the hire period
c) Drivers must also provide two further separate forms of identification (e.g. Utility bill & passport)
d) A maximum of 3 drivers per rental is permissible.
e) A maximum of 6 penalty points is allowable; drivers convicted of drunk driving cannot drive our vehicles.
f) Drivers must be over 25 and under 70 years of age.

10. Complaints

All reasonable complaints about significant issues we receive are investigated by Jersey Camper Hire. Please relay the complaint to us as soon as possible to give us the opportunity to correct any deficiency. Should the matter remain unresolved after a reasonable time has been allowed for action, you should report the matter to us without delay and confirm the same in writing as soon as possible thereafter. We would consider 28 days to be a reasonable time to confirm the complaint to us and in the event of the complaint not being intimated in time, this may impede the future investigation and could affect your entitlement to compensation. fishing

a) Collection; The van will be available from 1pm on the day of hire or at a date and time specified in the rental agreement. Please allow one hour to complete paperwork and for the vehicle hand over and demonstration.
b) Return; the vehicle must be returned before 10 am on the date specified on the rental agreement, or a time agreed by prior arrangement. The vehicle must be returned clean and in the same condition as it was collected. A charge of £50.00 will be made for cleaning should this not be the case, at the discretion of the management. (We accept that washing the vehicle will not be possible and the bedding to be laundered by ourselves).

13. Break Down Cover

In the rare event you might break down, cover is provided here on the island and across Europe and the United Kingdom. if you do break down we recommend that you phone us directly on (0044) 1534 864073 first so we can advise your best course of action. 12. Variation of Terms

Jersey Camper Hire reserves the right to vary these conditions of hire at any time. Including but not limited to withdrawal of Hire, and full refund and if necessary offer of replacement vehicle in event of business needs.
